They seem rather expensive for what is a machine-made piece.
There are less costly, hand finished pieces that living makers will adjust to best suit your needs.
Dan Johnston, for one, will offer several choices to best accomodate your playing and reed choice - while sitting with you. Not bad under 100 bucks!

If you are seriously interested in a modern Chedeville re-creation I would take a look at the offerings by Brad Behn and Chris Hill/Guy Chadash.

The Glotin Chedeville re-creation is the Chris Hill/Guy Chadash mouthpiece. I would suggest getting it from Chris Hill directly, you'll save a little money and get a better facing in all likelihood.

Brad Behn's new chedeville "copy" will run you $650, not kidding! On the other hand, the There is a new version of the Chadash Hill blank which apparently has a wider table, and is more friendly to V12 reeds. The original blanks were had a very narrow table, and were not very free blowing in my opinion. Of the Glotin - Chedes, the 1.04 tip seems to be the best for most people i know who have worked with it.
