 Buffet site...

I'm a little (actually very) confused after looking at models of Eb clarinet on the musicgroup buffet website. It lists at RC Prestige Eb clarinet, also lists a Prestige clarinet available in Eb, D and C and says that this Presitge clarinet is available in R13, RC, and RC Prestige. Then when you click the regular R13 clarinet, it is available in Bb, A, Eb etc etc....but when you click RC clarinet it is only availble in Bb and A! The reason I am asking this is because I am trying to work out if they still make regular RC Eb clarinets. Anyone able to figure it out?

According to my Buffet Catalog, there are R13 Mi b (Eb) -page 6-; RC Mi b (Eb), -page 12 and 14, and RC Prestige Mib (Eb), D and C -page 12 and 14-
Also R13 in A and Bb, and RC in A and Bb, and RC prestige in A and Bb.
Hope this help

In the catalogue printed in 2004 (not sure if this brochure is still the current one):

Pages 2-3 History,
4-5 'Tosca',
6-7 'Festival',
8-9 'Vintage',

10-11 'RC, RC Prestige' - and this has an RC Eb pictured, the standard RC Eb has barrel lengths (mm) 40.5/41.5, whereas the RC Prestige Eb has barrel lengths 41.5/42.2 and is availlable in Green Line (and that's their wording of 'Greenline').

12-13 'R13, R13 Prestige' - with an R13 Eb pictured, and only specify an R13 Eb at 440 Hz with a 41.5mm barrel.

14-15 'Eb, D, C' - Pictured here are an RC Prestige Eb, D and C, the list includes RC Eb, RC Prestige D, Eb, Green Line Eb and C, and an R13 Eb.

16-17 'Green Line' - lineup includes Tosca Bb & A, Festival Bb & A, RC Bbs (both 442 Hz, one with LH Eb), RC Prestige Bbs (one 440 Hz with 66mm barrel and one 442 Hz with 65mm barrel), RC Prestige Eb, R13 Bb & A (both 440 Hz).

18-19 Pro clarinets spec chart,
20-27 Student clarinets,
28-29 Accessories.

Former oboe finisher
Howarth of London
1998 - 2010

The opinions I express are my own.

From the dealer confidential catalog, they are still listing the RC Eb, model BC1512-2.

Don't bother with the TMG website anymore. Go to www.buffet-crampon.com. All that should be on TMG now is Keilwerth, Besson and Schreiber.

So basically, they are listening the regular RC and R13 Eb clarinets under the "Eb, D, C" pages, and also the regular RC and R13 page... The weird thing is that the site lists the RC Prestige Eb and the Prestige Eb as being seperate, and has the RC and R13 regular Eb clarinets under the Prestige category.. Anyway..thanks guys

Yeah, it's strange why they list them like that - maybe there's some method in their madness.
