I ordered an alto clarinet mouthpiece from a dealer over a week ago. My current mouthpiece has a large chip in it and is almost "unplayable". They promised delivery within a week which was very important to me as I have a concert this Saturday. I found out today it will not be delivered until Monday!!! If I had known this, I would have made arrangements through someone else. Can anyone help me find someone who could next day UPS an alto clarinet mouthpiece overnight? At this point, the make isn't as crucial as just getting one!!! Thanks.

Have you called Chuck Levin's in Wheaton, Md., Dale Music in Silver Spring, or L&L Woodwinds in Gaithersburg? These places actually may have an alto mouthpiece in stock. Chuck's and Dale Music are easily accessible from D.C. via Metro.

Thanks. I started with them when I needed to order one in the first place. None carry alto mouthpieces as they have very little demand for them.

Ken -
Don't panic.
Every high school and college has alto clarinets. Have your band director call up another band director in town and borrow a mouthpiece for a day or two.
Good luck at the concert.

Ken,
Thanks for the info. I am in a community band, not a high school or college band (I wish I was that young!). I'll keep lookin'.

I have an older "no name" alto mthpc I can send you fedex (overnight) or whatever. I will send the mthpc only---hopefully you will have your ligature. Contact me at bandtech@wans.net and I'll get it out today if you still need it. BTW you won't need to return it, just keep for a spare.
