Does anyone have any information on the Amati AZACL3926971 bass clarinet? Also, if anyone has a low C bass for sale please contact me. Thanks

I checked a new one out at Woodwind and Brasswind and was very disapointed. The workmanship was very poor. The plating for example had a lot of flaws. Additionally, I didn't like the mechanisms very much and the instrument had keys that interfered with others. I don't think Woodwind and Brasswind even carries the instruments anymore. The one I looked at was one of the last they had.

I tried one which a fellow member of the Klarinet list had offered for sale a year or so ago. I could not come anywhere close to bringing the instrument into tune. He claimed that with his setup he could, and i have no reason to doubt him. But be aware that intonation may be a problem.

Thank you for that information. The clarinet I was looking at was at WW and BW, and though their replies to my questions were timely at first, now they aren't even coming at all. You would think that if someone was willing to throw down that much money they would wb. Oh well, I appreciate the advice. So my search continues.......

I have an amati soprano clarinet and it was out of tune for ever. The mouth piece it came with was decent. I played on that MP for awile. then I figured out the problem was the mouthpiece. I through the old one awayand put my blayman on. Now it plays great. The playting is not shoty. Not like a pro french horn but not as bad as a tiwan or china made horn. Also The new amati acl-692low c has new keys and bore design.
