 Bass parts in Bruch, Britten?
Author: Gardini

The Juneau Symphony season was just announced. I may have the Bass clarinet position if there is a Bass clarinet part. Does anyone know if any of these pieces have a part for Bass Clarinet? Our conductor is out of town and the office hasn't received the music yet.

Britten Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes
Bruch Concerto No. 1 in G minor for Violin,
Bruch Kol Nidre

Here's the instrumentation for 'Four Sea Interludes':

2 flutes (2nd and 1st = piccolo),
2 oboes,
2 clarinets (2nd = E-flat clarinet),
2 bassoons,
contrabassoon,

4 horns, 3 trumpets (3rd = piccolo trumpet), 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, percussion (bass drum, bells, cymbals, gong, snare drum, tam tam, tambourine, tenor drum, xylophone), harp, celesta, and strings.

No bass in that, but do you play Eb clarinet?

No bass in Bruch pieces either.

Sorry,

Larry
