has anyone heard of the consoli ligature? a friend of mine recently bought it, says it performs better than his rovner,...any thoughts?

Anything is better than a Rovner. If money is no object, you should try a Winslow--I use them on all of my clarinets and saxes. Next best (in my humble opinion) is Bonande reverse. The new BGs are ok, also. Sorry that I have not heard of the lig in question. Good luck.

*Almost* anything is better than a Rovner. Try Peter Spriggs
floating rails ligature, I really like it.

I have an inverted Bonade, regular Bonade, Rovner, and Luyben. I like the Luyben the most. The Bonade's give me a bright sound, the Rovner a wet and mushy sound, and the Luyben a focused sound. Try different ligs and you'll find the one that's best for you!
