I just recieved my olegature and it's gold instead of silver...Is this correct? Because I heard that the clarinet olegatures are silver.

Ok...thank god. Anyways this is my thoughts on the olegature:
I've been playing it for about 30 minutes now and it's very good. I got it to a position that I like very much. It opened up my tone a lot and I still get the nice focused sound I need. When I tighten the bottom screw, I learned that the tonedoes getdarker like the instructions say. Very nice ligature so far.

the standard oleg clarinet ligature is silver plated. if you bought your lig from woodwind and brasswind, they probably sent you the gold one even though you didn't specifically order it, which is what they did to me. my gold one was slightly larger than a silver one that a friend of mine had, which leads me to believe that it was meant for an alto sax mouthpiece and that they just didn't have any clarinet ones in stock at the time. the gap between the metal bars that the screws pull together was smaller on the gold one than on the silver one. i guess it could have also been a production flaw or something which resulted in the slightly larger size of the gold one. ive played on both the silver and gold ones however, and they both sound and respond the same to me.
