I have played a DG for five years. I had tried a few before I bought it and they appeared to be quite consistent. What I liked about it at first was the resistance and the dark sound colour compared to the RC that I had before. I bought a set A/Bb for some reason that I regret quite soon after. From what I heard, the A-cl. was not ready for production but there was a great demand for it so I think, from what I heard, this was some kind of prototype. I don't know technically what was wrong but it was just too resistant. I had to work my butts off only to blow and all that came out was a mf+. I changed it a few months later to an R-13 and that was a relief.
I'm still sort of happy with the Bb. I like the sound and the key-work. The rings are scooped so they fit very nicely round the fingertips. I keep my instruments at work so I can't check the bore-size at the moment but I think it's smaller than most other models.
