I've recently been asked to perform this piece on a chamber music series in about a month and although it was originaly unfamiliar to me (as was the composer), I think it is a wonderful addition to our chamber music repertoire that more people should know.
The piece won the the pulitzer prize in 2004, and is scored for piano, violin, cello, and clarinet doublng bass clarinet. There is also a great recording available, on which David Krakauer is playing.
To find out more about this piece and the composer, you can go on his web site: http://paulmoravec.com/
