I have to audition on this piece for district auditions and i cant seem to find a recording of it anywhere. does anyone know of one or a place to look? the piece is "Adagio-Tarantella" by Ernesto Cavallini. Any help is appriciated.

Be cautioned that the KJOS version of it has incorrect tempo markings (6/8 marked in quarternote tempi).
The 6/8 Tarantella should at maxium be 112 and possibly even 100 to get it really clean.
Notation error:
Measure 16 the gracenote should be played F natural, not the F# which the previous F# in the measure would by rule suggest.

I had this same problem last year since the Cavalinni piece is one of the Interlochen Arts Camp audition pieces. After some "Googling" I found a good recording by an Italian clarinetist, Sergio Bossi. His website is:

The CD is published by Bongiovanni of Bologna, cat. no. GB 5113-2. Their web site in Italian and English is:

Using this info, I was able to find the CD at a UK music mail order house (just like Amazon) that shipped it to me in less than a week. What they dind't charge for VAT covered the price of the shipping. I hope this helps.

Hans Rudolph Stadler has the best recording of it that I have heard. I don't like the Drucker performance on the MMO as it sounds like they told him to "hold it back" and he tried his best to.
But it sounds really "held back"......

I agree with David.
Hans Rudolf Stalder's 1987 recording (Jecklin 578-2) is probably the benchmark but difficult to find.
If I remember correctly, Drucker's Music Minus One recording, which I also own but haven't recently heard always sounded "dry", with no resonance. Perhaps the acoustics during the session were less than favorable...GBK

Yup, the acoustics were awful. But also I wasn't impressed with his playing for that.
And I like lots of Drucker recordings. Heard him perform the Brahms Quintet live and it was really good.

The Sergio Bossi recording is fairly good. You can listen to a portion of it on his website in "Real" format. The rest of the CD has other nice Cavallini pieces. I think you can order it from the Bongiovanni website, but it will be cheaper if you can find it at an on-line CD seller.
