Hi everybody. I'm currently preparing for the Weber concertino, op. 26. Just wondering what your preference is to set the metronome beat for the Andante part?

I assume that the "Andante part" you are referring to is the "Tema".
My preference is quarter note=104, but flexible!

I play the Theme a bit faster than 104. It's not lively, but it needs to be jaunty -- maybe 116.
If you're referring to the slow, minor mode variation before the finale, I'd say 60-66.

HI, I am playing the same movement in that piece and my teacher is making play it at quater note=112 you know it is not hard to play once you get the feel of the piece but it has to be to your comfort you know and 112 is not a bad tempo and he is very experinced take from me he recorded that song and there is another lady who I admire as a clarinet player her name is Sabine Meyer she made another recording of the weber concertos and it is about that fast I never checked but that part is faster than you think so you know like I said it is to your comfort but trust me judges know that song everybody knows that song so be carefull and listen to a recording of the song and I recomend the lady I said before SABINE MEYER she is VERY AWSOME!!!!!!

Song: (sông, 'so[ng]) - a short musical composition with words
The Weber Concertino is a work, a piece, a selection, an oeuvre, a composition, etc...
But definitely not a "song" ...GBK

GBK - fancy trying to teach the iPod generation that the term 'song' actually relates to singing and not playing ... tsk tsk tsk
Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.
