Hey,
I just wanted to know if the Protec clarinet carry bags are good. If they protect your instrument. I am planning on buying the Protec Metro Carry-All Clarinet Case, but I just wanted to know if anyone has used the case before. If you know anything about it please respond! Thanks!!!
P.S. Also, is $36.00 a good price? It has 2 small pockets, for reeds, swabs...stuff like that. 1 medium sized, and one large pocket to put your music in.It also comes with a hard wooden case!

I use the slimline Protec Carry case and I love it.... hard enough shell to protect the instrument against most minor drops... pocket is big enough to hold my tuner, reeds, pencils...everything..

I have the Protec Carry-all, and I like it very much. I paid $70 bucks (at a music store-I believe in supporting real music stores) for it and it is worth it. $36 is obviously a great price. I like all the storage. It's bigger than most cases, but ..... I like all the strorage.

Whoops. I take it back, Asheeka. I looked in a catalogue, and I see that the 'Metro' Carry-All is different from mine. It's list price is $45, so $36 is a reasonable price for it. I do like my case, but I don't know how it compares to the Metro. Mine is probably sturdier and bigger. Mine was list price about $100.
However, put your clarinet in the case and decide for yourself if it fits well, and if the case has the storage you want. $45 is not a lot of money in the case world; make sure it is sturdy enough to bang around however much you are likely to bang it. I do know this, there are zillions of case manufacturers out there, and Protec is one of the larger well known names. You have many cases to choose from.

I bought a massive Lap-top bag for fifty, and then used an old case; from one of those fancy sax cases with the clarinet and flute insert cases. They're really small, but the work well. I threw that in the lap-top bag and I have room for all the music I have and all of my accessories (I'm a pack-rat, too)

I'm pretty sure the Protec Metro Carry-All is NOT a clarinet
case, but a gig bag. It has a main compartment which has
room for a small-to-medium sized clarinet case, and then it
has the outer pockets for storage. So if you are looking for
a case, this would not be a good one to get. But if you
already have a case, and need something to carry it around
in, then this bag would probably be great. Especially if you
are into pink and sky blue.
