I'm playing in a piece a friend of mine composed in the end of year student composition department concert.
I have a place where I need to jump from D5 to Eb6. The D5 is at the end of a series of 32nd notes. I can't play the the Eb the way I usually play it which is like E with the left hand, then with the right hand the first hole, the the banana looking key, and the Eb/Ab pinky key. It is too fast to move the finger next to the pinky from the third hole to the banana key in that speed. If I play instead the Eb6 with the middle hole and Eb/Ab key, it is a little flat.
How would you recommend to finger the Eb in that case?

It totally depends upon the notes which preceed and follow the Eb6, but this is probably the best choice for Eb6:
TR oxx/ oox Ab/Eb
Another, less common choice is:
TR + G# throat key oxx/ xoo Ab/Eb

OK thanks I'll try those. The Eb6 is pretty long and the note after is a ver long G#5.

I would usually use GBK's fingering, or slide the RH 3rd finger up to the banana key to use your normal fingering. If you slide it slightly sideways and up (away from the hand) it works well. With a bit of practise you can get the hang of this. If you have a left hand Ab/Eb key, this makes it slightly easier on the right hand. But it's still possible without.

I also like this one:
oR xxx/ oox Ab/Eb
(no thumb hole closed - but register key depressed)
It can speak a little easier than the above: TR oxx/ oox Ab/Eb ,
and has the advantage of being able to leave all Left Hand fingers down from the previous D and they stay down for the following G#5.
It may be a lttle sharper than the above. but you mentioned that
TR oxx/ oxo Ab/Eb was a little flat.
Find the one that suits you best in terms of intonation and legato linkage from the D5 to the Eb6 - and then down to the G#5.

OK thanks. I will try that fingering too. Although R T oxx oox Eb/Ab works pretty good and is in tune. There is no problem at moving from that fingering to G#5 (in your fingering the thumb is not pressed so either way I have to change one finger).
