 Buffet's Concerto for Mittens

At OU, the Buffet table was giving away T-Shirts and DVD's called "Concerto for Mittens". The DVD is about a performer's trek up a mountain where he then performs at the top with his Greenline Tosca. He performs some Brahms and some of the Mozart K622. I think this DVD was created in the 10th year anniversary of the Greenline clarinets.

In the extras, it goes into the Buffet factory and shows the process in how they make their clarinets with some very nice clarinet music in the background. Anyone know what was being played at the background music? I thought it was cool to see all the steps that go into making clarinets!

Has anyone seen this DVD? What did you think? Anyone have deeper insights than mine?

Just thought this was a pretty cool DVD (about 30 minutes long). Oh yeah-you can watch it in French, or French with English subtitles.

Sounds cool, speaking of mittens or gloves. My first clarinet came with a pair of white cotton gloves. I tried playing with them on and my the tips of the gloves got stuck in the holes!

Some time back I downloaded a .mov file from the Buffet Web site that showed the clarinet factory. The background music was the Mozart Concerto, played with a basset clarinet. Don't know if it's the same thing, but why not have the quintessential clarinet piece playing while watching clarinets being made?

It's a cool movie but isn't currently downloadable.

Just viewable.

Ralph- If it is the K622 on the video background of the DVD and I didn't know it, then I think I've committed a clarinet sin. I've actually never played this piece and I don't think I've ever heard it the whole way through. Although, I do know all of the Weber clarinet pieces and could name which one it was off to you in a heartbeat, along with the movement names probably. I like Weber a lot.

Do you know if Buffet would send out DVD's by mail if you asked for it? It's pretty neat to watch, especially since it's given away for free.
