I'm planning on playing the first movement of the Finzi Concerto in a couple of months' time, at my school's Concerto Night (All the music students get to perform a movement of a concerto with the school's orchestra). The problem is, the music department seems to be having quite a lot of trouble finding the score. I'm absolutely in love with the piece so I really really want to play it with the orchestra (Besides the fact that I'd have to start a new piece from scratch most likely). So, does anyone know where an Australian school could get hold of the orchestral score for the Finzi clarinet concerto?

The Victorian College of the Arts library has a pocket score - when I performed the concerto, I photocoped it, magnified it, and cut and paste all the parts.
You'll want to get it soon to start rehearsing, the string part isn't easy.

Morrigan ... what you did could have ended you and your college up in very hot water ... do you have any idea what the fines are like for copyright fraud?
Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.

Yeah, I had heard it was difficult. I lent the orchestra's director the piano score and a recording of it so he could have some idea of it's difficulty, and he said it should be alright. Hopefully they should be able to have one movement up to scratch by September...
Thanks for the address, he said that they had tried Hal Leonard but they'll try again...

Boosey & Hawkes has rental rights; this was the address their Web site supplies for information on rental.
If you have a problem perhaps you should contact Boosey & Hawkes rental division directly.
