Does anyone know if Buffet makes 67mm barrels for the Tosca? I'm just a little sharp when fully warmed up with a 66 pushed all the way in, and would like to consider a 67. I haven't been able to find them anywhere on the usual sites.
Thanks,
Jeffreyc

If you're pushed all the way in, and just a 'little' sharp, why not do what most would do and pull out a bit?

I prefer not to pull out much at the barrel, as that has a more drastic effect on some throat tones than a slightly longer barrel. There are also playing situations where a piano might have gone low or such.
But my post is really not about seeking advice for how not to play sharp, rather it is to research if anyone knows of a tosca 67 barrel retailer or whether they are even manufactured.
Thanks,
Jeffreyc

Jeffreyc,
I have not tried out a Tosca, but I'm curious as to why it must be a Buffet barrel specifically crafted for the Tosca? I'm not up to snuff on the specs of the Tosca, so I'm curious if there is a reason why you can't find a 67 Moennig or hand crafted barrel (Backun, Chadash...etc, although I can understand if your concern is cost) that would do the job.
Thanks!

Buffet makes 67mm barrels for their Festival model (which has 66 & 65mm barrels as standard issue), so I'm sure they'd make them for the Tosca. Give your Buffet dealer a call.
Why not just get a set of tuning rings....

Thanks all for your replies. I was able to get in touch with clark fobes, who made me some barrels that fit the taper of the tosca, which are GREAT!
