 Tonguing

I can tongue really fast and really crisp in the lower register, but I am having trouble keeping the same crispness in the upper registers. Does anyone have any suggestions to why this could be and ways to correct it?

Thanks,

Jeff

1. Possibly you worry about the upper register and so tense up.

2. Perhaps you need more air support in the upper register. Its so easy to forget about this when you are concentrating on other aspects of technique.

3. Perhaps you are moving your jaw when you tongue. This is something you can get away with in the low register but the higher you go, the more problem it causes.
