I was browsing through Wikipedia and in the "clarinet" entry found a link to their list of famous clarinetists. Not to take away from the giants who are listed there, but Marcellus is not listed, neither on the list or anywhere on the site.

Was thinking of writing one myself, but since we have so many posters here who actually knew the man, can we encourage someone with real depth of knowledge of Mr. Marcellus to submit an entry?
Acker Bilk has an entry. We can't let this one go.

Another thing - I've never seen a picture of Marcellus before, despite having seen pictures of his comtemporaries and earlier clarinetists. Does anyone have a picture of him? It would be great to match a face with a legend

I would question the relevance and "authority" of a list that includes Woody Allen and Acker Bilk as examples of clarinetists.  Marcellus is still not widely known in some circles He was an American orchestral phenom. True students of the horn are aware of his legacy and greatness. That's not to say that one is not a good player if they do not know who Marcellus was.
