Does anybody have anything to say on the new Gregory Smith 1++ facing mouthpieces?

Yes -- try it.
All the commenting in the world is no substitute for working with Greg to find the right mouthpiece for you. I have two 1++ m'pieces that play great for me, but they might be awful for the next person.

The 1++ facing is ever so slightly longer and fractionally more open than the 1++.
The difference in the 1+ and 1++ facings is roughly equivalent to the difference between the 1* facing and the 1+ facing (the 1* being ever so slightly closer than the 1+).
Suffice it to say that all 4 facings within the Chedeville styled mouthpieces (1, 1*, 1+, and 1++) are medium styled facings, taking a medium styled reed, with very slight differences in the facing curve which are designed to accommodate slightly differing embouchures.
I like to think that I make one mouthpiece in the Chedeville style and that the slight variation among facings is primarily designed for an individuals' comfort.

Mr. greg thanks for the information about the chedeville. I would like to know if any one here using a exotic wood model like cocobolo and grenadilla what is the different of this mouth piece in hard rubber? thank you.
