Does anyone know about the clarinet part from Oliver the musical. Our school's putting it on in the fall and I'm the only clarinetist. Is the part prominant? I'm also wondering if there are Eb, bass parts, etc.
On a smilar subject, my Wind Ensemble at my school played the Star Wars Trilogy (arr. Donald H.) music, and I noticed that there wasn't much to the clarinet part. Is this ture? How about for the rest of the films?

Not sure about Oliver, i think its might be clarinet doubling bass?
We player the star wars arranged by Robert W Smith in our wind ensemble, it was good, esp for me on bass clarinet And we got to do the party bit!

The clarinet part in Oliver requires a switch to bass clarinet for the chase scene, at least in the orchestration we used. I remember really struggling with the bass part, not sure how hard it actually was but it was the 1st time I'd played bass and the instrument leaked like a sieve. I don't remember anything too exposed in the rest of the part but it was about 15 years ago and my memory isn't that good.

In the hunsberger, the little bit that's difficult in the clarinet part are the tremolos. Those are a little harry. I remember a few runs, but nothing to impossible. Hopefully the group is good because it's pretty sophisticated structurally.

I played in Cameron Makintosh production of Oliver and was playing clarinet doubling Bass.
The majority of the part is fine, though there is a big klezmer style clarinet cadenza that would be worth looking at.

The song with the klezmer clarinet cadenza is "I'm Reviewing the Situation."
