 Articulation Char. of Mouthpieces

I have started to search around for another mouthpiece that is more open than my old Vandoren 5RV. In trying out various ones, it seems that some make articulation easier than others, but I don't know what mouthpiece characteristic influences articualtion. Tongueing is a week spot for me, so I might as well pick one that will help me rather than hurt. Can anyone tell me what technical specs to look for? Thanks.

I've just changed my Vandoren B45 for a B45 lyre. The difference is quite marked. The lyre is more open and, I find, easier to articulate. If you like the 5RV, you might find the 5RV lyre gives you the greater openness you are looking for. My advice is to try plenty. I tried six and found two that were great, two acceptable and two terrible -- at least for me. I

5RV LYRE WOULD BE A NICE TRY. I RECOMEND IT. MY STUDENTS PLAY IT AND THEY SATISFIED
