My wife called my attention to the newly-issued T M brochure/flyer, in which insts., flute, clarinet, trumpet, are advertised at $99, [retail $299]. To me, it appears they have received a "dumping" of un-sold insts of the F,C,T SO variety, which are usually un-acceptable to repairers, therefor BE CAUTIOUS. Is this warning appropriate? Mark/GBK ? Don

I think Don's abbreviations mean "Flute- , Trumpet-, and Clarinet-Shaped Objects".
To complete the Don Vinci code, what is TM? Well, "Tuesday Morning" I suppose, but wot does it actually mean?

Guess I'm just lazy, my apologies. Yes, W t C's assumptions are correct, I'll try to avoid the "once stated, now abbreviated" trap. Possibly only we midwesterners are familiar with the "Tuesday Morning" discounted ?distress? marketing chain, where over-runs and "non-salables" are offered at VERY low prices, some are real bargains, others not ! We have bought a few things there [Tulsa, OKC] and are on their mailing list, where we discovered their "cut-rate" instruments. Assuming from their descriptions and "retail price" that these are the "Asiatic" insts. which we dread being purchased by our un-informed families, I was, and still am, motivated to speak. I also employed Dave S's "invented" clarinet shaped objects, CSO, expanding it to include Flute and Trumpet. Lengthy, isn't it? Will try to avoid incomprehensibility in the future. Regards, Don

This thread is kind of close to home. In the past year or two, I've arranged and produced music for some TM commercials, and if I remember correctly, even played a bit of clarinet on one of them. In the interest of full disclosure, the clarinet heard in the commercial is a Buffet R-13, and not an on-special C-SO. My curiosity is piqued, though, and since there's a TM just down the road, I'm going to have to go and check it out tomorrow.
