I was just listening to Cantina Band from Star Wars, and for the first time notice there is a very big Bass Clarinet solo.

Don't forget the cute lil clarinet solo, after the soprano sax intro, before the bass cl. solo. I was known for always playing it in school cuz my best friend wanted me to play it cuz he was obsessed with Star Wars. hehe
Notice the squeek in there too? haha

This might be a perfect tune to demo all members of the Clarinet Family, either one at a time by yourself or add your sections better players in on the demo and do it up right. Eb, Bb, Bb Bass, Bb Contra.
Wear Star Wars Mask, every fifth grader will want to play Clarinet.

i did that on halloween - walked into a 6th grade beginning clarinet class wearing a star wars mask, played the cantina song
the kids went nuts, i had a bunch sign up for lessons the next day ; great recruiting tool

Almost everywhere I demo clarinet or sax for a group of kids, Star Wars is what they want to hear. I wonder if this will wear off now that the the Star Wars machine is winding down?
Cantina Band, if played in written Am/C, is also a great tool for fostering good A-key habits. (along with The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly)

When I was 8, hearing a 7th grade alto sax duet play the StarWars theme is actually what compelled me to pick up the sax a few years later. John Williams is absolutely one of the great orchestral composers and musical inspirations of all time.
