Has anyone ever played on a legend A5. I use it as my primary mouthpeice. I love it, but I am wondering if any of you have found any other mouthpeices that might play more openly.

Never played on one myself, but I think mouthpieces are a personal preference that is more subjective than we would like to think. I remember back in my college days I bought a new mouthpiece and thought it was the best thing since corn flakes. Took it to my next lesson and proudly announced that I got a new mouthpiece. After I played a few notes he grunted and commented, "It should make a great paperweight."
Needless to say, I was taken aback, but after playing many mouthpieces earlier in my career do believe that a person should find something that works and then stick with it. It also makes life simplier and easier on the wallet. I've been playing the same moutpiece now for many years (Kaspar 13) and see no need to change.

I agree with J. However,I think the blank material does matter. Kasper's material is a trade secret and my Kasper style mouthpiece by Greg Smith is made of Zinner blank, the material for which is also a trade secret of them. There seem to be many mouthpiece manufacturers who adopted Zinner blanks considering it is the best material available now. These fields are just like black magic.
