 Brian White

I heard the most fantastic clarinet playing by Brian White Sunday afternoon at a Trad Jazz concert. He is from England and plays with the Alan Gresty Brian White Ragtimers. The band just about blew the roof of the place. There was so much energy! Brian showed me his clarinet which he said is an "Ertler" I believe. He said he bought it in Vienna several years ago. The keys look different, and it sounds a bit different also. They are in the area and going to play at the Sacramento Jazz Festival next weekend. We placed our clarinets side-by-side and his clarinet seemed a bit shorter than my Buffet. Also he had pulled the barrel out about 1/8 or 1/4 of an inch. Sorry I couldn't get more information!

All that hot next weekend is like to blow the roof off Sac'to this weekend, Carol. Are you gonna be able to come over? There are many free events as well as admission sites. Expect temps in the high 80s :)

[ P.S. I think Brian's horn might be an Oehler (system) ]
