The Klarinet board had a posting by R. Garrett http://www.woodwind.org/clarinet/Klarinet/Postings.html#38
which stated that he received a newsletter stating that Int Music Supply (the Lisa Argiris sales place ) has been sold.
Additionally, the post mentions that the Music Group resold Buffet back to some of the original owners.
OK, so what gives?
Buffet has had more owners than Harrahs has poker chips.

True. Roger, of course, had his own slant on things.

That's what Lisa was speculating in her newsletter; I haven't been able to verify it, but it wouldn't be horribly surprising. As of now, however, they are a part of The Music Group.

It sounds kind of like the buy out that Brook Mays Music did with my friend's music store (Caldwell Music in Abilene, TX). He still maintains a small percentage of the profits and has an office. However, the store has REALLY changed--and not for the better. But it's a changing world.
I always loved buying things from Lisa and I hope someone will hand-select clarinets from her place. I also hope she made a bundle of money off the deal.

IMS was taken over by the investment group CJC Financial Services who owns several other music related enterprises in the Chicago area. In a conversation with the new president he indicated that they were going to concentrate on the musical instrument rental business. I do not how this bodes for their mail order or store business.
Lisa sent out a newsletter to several people which indicated that she was going to open her own small store and still concentrate on Buffet instruments which she hoped would contiune to serve her well. The last I heard (January) she was still associated with IMS in the woodwind department.

She said in her mailing that she had to sell because of a divorce.
