I'm trying to find pictures online to put on a flyer I am making, and basically want pictures of a clarinet and a saxophone that would appeal to younger kids (like, 5th-8th graders) I've looked with Google images, and didn't have much success. If anyone has any ideas, it would be very appreciated!!

So many instruments to play........so little time to play them!

Selmer France's website has some very nice "artsy" photos of clarinet and saxophone mechanisms. They're not just "here's a clarinet" shots, but rather well framed and angled photos of portions of the mechanisms.

I particularly like the one of the baritone sax crook and octave mechanism. It's like some strange Jules Verne device, and most "outsiders' would not pick it up for what it really is from a casual viewing.

However, these photos are copyright protected, just like most images, so I would be sure to contact Selmer for permission before plastering them across the wide world.

If you are using them for non-commercial use, there are a number of such images included in MS Word's clip art (assuming you are using Word). Select Picture from the Insert menu and Clip Art from the submenu. Then search for clarinet or saxophone and drawings and photos in a number of styles will appear. As I said, Microsoft will allow you to use them, but only for non-commercial purposes.

Circuit City and others sell royalty free clipart images on cd for around $30 under the name "Art Explosion". Lots of music stuff, both vector art and bitmaps. A few are poor, most are decent, and a few are great.

I own a graphics program called Printmaster. There are lots of pictures of musical instruments (including clarinets) included in their art CDs. You do, however, have to buy the program. It's a fun one to own and you'll find you get your money out of it because you can print your own business cards, brochures, birthday cards, letterhead, etc.
