 Trilling faster?
Author: bflatclarinetist

I haven't discussed this with my teacher yet, but I think I'm trilling a bit slow. And I want to be able to trill faster, therefore does anybody have any tricks to trilling?

Thanks

Play one beat at a time to practice it.

da da da da da da da da dut

da da da da da da da da dut

da da da da da da da da dut

Then da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da dut (2 beats at a time).

Add one beat at a time and keep the trill measured.

Don't do anything goofy like tighten up the arm to wag faster as that is more spastic than acceptable.

Burning a trill may be fun, but not often very musical.
