I have a quite old Pedler Alto Clarinet. It has Pedler Custombiult, Elkhart, Ind. engraved on the bell. Does anyone know anything about the Pedlers?

Hi James : I will soon be the "proud ?" owner of the Pedler Alto Cl, which was auctioned on EBAY as a Bass? Cl., if you want to look it up, sold Sun morning. When I get it in a week or so, we can compare serial No's and I'll give you my evaluation of this oldie. As Mark said, do a search, as he has prob. put on the BB the info from Langwill in response to an earlier request. I also have an old Ped. bass which I found at a flea market [for a song]which tho a big one , has a number of good features , somewhat poorly engineered IMHO. Will be glad to help. Don

I didn't know that I had such a popular instrument! I have had mine for quite a few years. A school was throwing it out and I rescued it. Mine needs pads and such, but hey, maybe Willie can find another one and we can play alto clarinet trios. We might even find someone else who might have the only other Pedler alto left in the country and we can do a quartet recital. Would anyone attend? It will be interesting to compare the two instruments, Don. Sorry you missed out, Willie. Maybe next time.
