 A good repair technician

I bought a used Ridenour TR146 clarinet as a back-up insturment, and it needed an overhaul. Prices at competent shops in the SF Bay Area were very, very high, given my purpose for having this instrument. I took a chance and sent it to Spence Hearn, in Pampa, Texas, who offers his services on eBay (search "clarinet". The price was well under half what the job would have cost me here, and I'm very happy with the high quality. Spence responded to my timing, too. High recommendation!

Spence has good feedback from his eBay customers.

BUT,

I had my R13 overhauled at his shop, and it came back with the bridge mechanism out of whack; and I had to return it to him for a re-do.

After a year, I've got a couple of pads that stick enough to slow the action (my gooey slobber?).
