Do you have info in your book on Karl Hammerschmidt clarinets. There's one on ebay, and I was wondering if anyone had info on it. I've heard of Frank, but not Karl.

Ted,
I'm not Mark but maube i can tell you something.
Karl Hammerschmidt & Sohne is a member of the Hammerschmidt family, active in Burgau a little town between Munich and Stuttgart. Frank Hammerschmidt is also active in Burgau. An uncle is active in Austria and famous for the clarinets of the Wiener Philharmoniker.
The Brand name for Karl Hammeschmidt is "Klingson". I have a recent 4 colour folder from them. The make from student models till profesional clarinets in mainly german system but also boehm system. Also bassetclarinets, bass clarinets and so on.
The top line clarinets are hand made and very expensive.

Hans.
