Well this may not be "professional advice" but what helps me finger fast is to complete loosen up/ relax your fingers first. Keep your fingers as close to the keys as possible. This may sound stupid but you could try practicing wiggling your fingers as fast as possible for a couple of minutes for a bit.

In what sense? While tonguing or while slurring?

If it's while tonguing, your fingers move WAY faster than your tongue can. But you just need to work on coordinating the two. If they're uncoordinated, you'll consciously try to slow your fingers down, and they'll seem too slow.

Practice your scales and arpegios every day--tongued and slurred--until every note is smooth and the effect is a "seamless" string of notes from beginning to end. Eventually, your finger speed will increase "all on its own"--and you might even get good enough for the conservatory (whatever "good" really means)

Don't think about every note.

Think of groups of notes, and how the downbeat of each grouping leads to the downbeat of the next grouping.

Probably all good advice. However, not everyone has the same reflexes and it's conceivable that your finger speed is maxed out. Not everyone can run the 100 meter competitively. I'm not saying don't try but just be realistic.

Still though it is worth investigating. The commonest problem does seem to be tension. If the muscles are tense, they are going to be slowed down by that tension.

Try this exercise. Relax completely and then try to move your fingers as rapidly as you can but do NOT worry about evenness or tempo or what the notes are or anything else. Just wiggle your fingers.

Do you have any problem trilling? If not, then it is unlikely that your fingers are slow. The problem is apt to lie elsewhere (such as tension).
