How did you do it on Eb? I'm an Eb player too and I'd like to learn how to do it

it was quite simple actually. Much easier to do on Eb than on Bb. You have to really squeeze your diaphram and ab muscles when you start smearing up, slowly, with ALOT of diphrmatic support, slide your fingers off of the keys. It becomes a great work out after a while.

try rolling your fingers off the keys all fingers at once, one hand at a time. like you lift your wrists opening the holes all at once but slowly, then you use your embochure to make the smear smooth.

"Sliding the fingers" off of the keys really has nothing to do with learning how to gliss "smear". I just thought I would take the opportunity so that people actually acknowledge this fact.

Really? Please explain your method to "Smear" an Octave or more.
Thanks-
