Hi board readers,
I consistently find prioritising to be not so easy, I usually get away fine but sometimes like now I get worried about what to spend most on, like say a Proms concert.. do you put that before study? Stuff that you don't usually do might need to come first or what.. I know this doesn't sound easy to follow but just wondering if you have advice on prioritising clarinet music and orginisational skills?
Thanks

I usually finish all of the stuff I need to do to run my life (i.e. teaching, school work, eat) before I even think about practicing. When I have a block of time I practice until I get the first thing that I mess up fixed. If you try to prioritize a few things in your clarinet playing that consistently need work, practice until you reach your goal. This is probably what you try to do now but some time we are so schedule oriented that we can't get what we to get done done.
Hope this helps.

Do you have a private instructor? If so, ask them how you should be using your practice time. As far as the rest of your life, I think we all struggle between getting the things we have to do done, as opposed to the things we want to do. Have you tried making a written list for each day, to organize your thoughts? Just some suggestions, good luck.
