My first clarinet teacher (10 years ago) got back from her 7- year study in Vienna. I was so glad to have a special lesson from her the other day.
She introduced me this book, "Bender-Jettel Tonleiter-Studien" scale book.
I'm now practising the C major, and this really blows me out.
Despite some frustration, I believe this serious scale practising, as well as some new insights in breathing will be of tremendous help in my clarinetting.
Anyone knows this book? I've checked some former postings on Jettel, and got the impression that the Austrian composers/musicians tend to focus on the scales (with different fingerings)? And their sound is 'creamy'? Could you tell more about Austrian way of playing the clarinet (if there's anything like that..)?
