Two Questions

1) Back in the 60's I was encouraged by the principal with the Mpls Sym to try Niederdorfer reeds. They were made in Switerland and came in a neet plastic box that I still keep stuff in. Haven't seen them since. Has anybody ever run across them, what did you think and are they still around?

2) When I look at a mfgrs list of mouthpieces I see pieces still available that were in regular use in the 50's and 60's like the Vandorn 2RV or Selmer C*. Given that most of the modern clarinets are small bore polycylindrical instruments, have these older pieces had adjustments to their inner dimensions to better match modern bores and retain the original facing or are they the same as they were originally? My question is prompted by questions people ask here and the difficulty they seem to have finding suitable mouthpieces for older instruments.
