I am playing the 1st clarinet part and have a question. Three bars and one bar before rehearsal marking 40, there is an E# to F# bend on the top space and line of the staff. I don't know that I can bend the F# low enough to get an F to bend up. Is there a way to finger this to smear from one note to the other?
Thanks
Tony

For the F5 to F#5 smear:
Play the F5 with this alternate fingering:
TR x x x / o x x F#/C#
then slide off the 2nd finger of the right hand and play F#5 by fingering:
TR x x x / o o x F#/C#

That's probably the best "NEW" fingering I've learned in a looooooooooong time. Thanks GBK!

No problem, I've got lots of them .
BTW - The above fingering suggestion works better on the Bb clarinet than the A clarinet ...GBK

I tried this fingering out and it is awsome. I will share it with my fellow clarinetists on Thursday night's rehearsal.
