The years I made my most progress as a player were the years I put my clarinet together as soon as I got home from school, left it assembled and practiced it all through out the evening. After homework, after dinner, before bed and I would finger chromatic scales silently during family TV shows since no one wanted to hear me in our small house. I'd then practice for about an hour and always, always, always, swab it out and put it away. The case is the place it's the safest. If you do leave it on a stand in the evening or whenever you practice.........

It brings up an issue that we discussed in another thread. Use a very heavy duty stand only. The light weight ones are a huge accident waiting to happen. It doesn't matter if you have a wooden or plastic horn on that issue. Broken is broken when it lands on the floor in a crash. Get a heavy duty stand.
