Dear Bulletin Board,
I am looking for information about Buffet metal contrabass clarinets. May have been made by Kohlert and stenciled "Buffet"? Looks like the "Linton"
(Orsi?) metal contrabass clarinet pictured on the home page (bottom left) of www.saxpics.com (under "manufacturers"). The keywork on the Buffet is somewhat different, and the tubing between the mouthpiece and the main body of the instrument is visually of a lesser diameter on the Buffet. Does anyone have a "Buffet" or Kohlert metal contrabass clarinet? I have photos of a "Buffet" contrabass and will send on request- I can not attach to this post due to incompatible format.
With thanks and best wishes,
Peter

I have never heard of anyone other than Leblanc making metal contrabass clarinets. You could try sending a photo and I'll see if I know anything about it.

I have the Linton Contrabass on my website.

I've never seen the Buffet though.
