I ran across this while surfing the net and thought I'd pass it along.

I've emailed them for the tip opening and facing length. It would be interesting to see how this one fares against the 5JB, Pomarico Jazz II and other wide open tipped mpcs.
(I just received an email stating that the tip opening is 0.072" and the facing length measures 36 using Babbitt gauges.)
The 5JB has a tip opening of just slghtly under 0.058" and the Pomarico Jazz II has a tip opening of just slightly over 0.058". The Jody Jazz #8, however, has a tip opening of 0.068". So it appears that this new T. L. Zappe mpc has the widest tip opening on the market.

I love the line "Would you like to antagonize entire trumpet sections?"

Just what we need....even LOUDER big bands! (groan) Rather than using a clarinet mouthpiece with a tip opening that's close to what I'd use on alto saxophone, it seems to me that it makes much more sense for the band to work on its dynamics and BALANCE. I can't think of any good reason why a jazz clarinetist needs to resort to such an extreme kind of mouthpiece.
