Hello, are there any commercial recordings available that feature the G "alto" clarinet"?
I have heard of the Erkose brothers, but haven't been able to find out more about it.
Does anyone own a good recording?
Thanks.
Willy

you could look for recordings of Mozart Notturni - one of them calls for G Bassett Horns, but I'd bet they're transposing from F Bassett Horns.
the one recording I have is Phillips CD of the complete Mozart Lieder and notturni

I'm with buedsma...the Erkose recordings are fabulous!
They are not usually easily available in your "neighborhood record store," however...try the internet for them.
Jim Stoynoff plays some G clarinet on his recording (Greek music) called "Return to our Roots." This is a wonderful cd which should be easily available. He also plays C and Bb horns too. Sometimes his name is written as "Stoyanoff."
Another thing which might help your search, particularly on the internet, is to search for "Turkish Clarinet" instead of G clarinet.
