As it turns out, you're close. Cornelius' nom de musique is a tribute to both Bootsy Collins and a medieval Dutch mystic. What's more, his group Edmund Welles (a quartet of bass clarinets) is named for a Monty Python character.

I am glad to see recognition for Cornelius, he is a well-rounded virtuoso player, classically trained but with wide ranging interests. I have taken a number of lessons from him, all rewarding experiences.

I hear that the Willem Breuker Collective is very interesting. I haven't heard them yet but plan to buy a cd soon. Henri Bok is a wonderful Bass clarinet player and person. Gilad Alzmon is a interesting Israeli jazz sax and clarinet player. I happen to like both his music and leftist politics. Though I would like to hear more of his clarinet, the CD I have is mostly sax. I just bought a Chris Speed CD, I have only had time to listen to it once, and am not sure what I think about it yet.

One of my very favorite players is Joze Kotar.

Lots of tracks on his homepage under discography.

Here's a little taste: Weber Quintet Mvt 4 - Rondo

Yes! David.
Kotar's on the list of Amazing Clarinetists, along with his wonderful Clarinet Sextet. Also add, Gilad Atzmon to the list, just give him a listen:
