"When I think back on all the crap I learned in high school...." I realize the clarinet was the BEST thing I took away from there. (That, and my wife of now, 25 years!)
We're still together, and still lovin' my clarinet after 30 years!

If you can balance out your two passions in life (your wife first, your clarinet second, or is it the other way around??? ) for that long, you give folks like me hope to do the same.
Perhaps you can tell us how you've kept going after so many wonderful years, on the clarinet, of course.

Hi, Pete -
Very interesting comments.
How did the clarinet come out on top? I mean, the clarinet is not the easiest instrument to learn and here you've kept with it for thirty years. You must have been an exceptional horn player in high school and loved it to have kept it up this long afterward. The majority of players drop music after they graduate from H.S. but... you didn't.
I'm curious though, why you say you otherwise learned so much crap? Was everything they offered, besides music, useless to you now?
I wish you would elaborate a little more on this. I feel I'm missing something here.
