 Saint-Saens Tarantelle
Author: rhagen2

Hello! I'm looking for a recording of the Saint-Saens Tarantelle in A minor (op. 6) for flute, clarinet, and piano. I can not find it on a cd ANYWHERE!! Does anyone know where I might be able to find it? I'll be playing it at my recital in May and I would like to have a copy to listen to...

Thanks so much!!

Much Love,
Rachel

Disc #2411

Another:

This is the version with orchestra instead of piano.

There are cds of the Tarantella:
Bridge 9079 has the piece recorded by Alan Kay, clarinet, Susan Rotholz, flute and James Winn, piano, another Saint-saens piece on that CD is his "Caprice sur des airs danois et russes, op.79. Also on that disc there's the Poulenc Sextet for Piano and Winds (remarkable composition) and Poulenc's Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano. Also, albert Roussel's Divertissement, Op. 6 for woodwind quintet and piano and Jean Francaix's "Les petits nerveux" for woodwind quintet and piano.
The Saint-saens Tarantella is also on Cala CACD1015 with James Campbell and Susan Milan with the London Philharmonic,

And, there's another one played performed by the principal clarinetist of the National Symphony of Washington, DC with flute and piano. It has eluded me; so, I gave up trying to acquire it, but it is out there, tho' probably out-of-print by now.

I wish you luck in acquiring at least one of the three that i know of.

All the best,
Earl T.

There is also a recording of it from a fine ensemble in NJ:

Their CD also features some fine repertoire. There is ordering/contact info on their site.
