Hi everyone,
I was just doing some research for a recital where I was performing the Third Church Sonata by Mozart. I was supposed to a bit of a biographical speech about this work and after looking in the Klarinet Archives I would ask someone for help. Does anyone know of some info about these sonatas, if you did I would really like to know!
Thanks,

The church sonatas were for chamber orchestra in their original form. I bought the set as TRANSCRIBED for clarinet. Look for information under orchestral music.

Mozart's Church Sonatas were written for chamber orchestra and organ to be used as interludes during the church service. Yona Ettlinger transcribed four of them for clarinet- #2 is the first one, #1 is the second one (go figure!) #10 is the third one and #17 is the fourth one. The fourth movement cadenza was written by Ettlinger, not Mozart. In the original Mozart, there is still a cadenza but it's less complex.
