Music for F or Eb horn on Bb one?
Author: Sue G

Hi,
Please excuse my ignorance but can anyone tell me if it's possible to transpose/change a piece of music written/arranged for the F or Eb horn so that it can be played by a Bb one ???
If so please can you tell me how I could do it ?
Thanks
Sue

Of course, it's possible to change from any key into some other key.

If you are playing a Bb horn and reading an F part you would want to go down a fourth. For example if the part in F says to play G, on your Bb horn you would play D.

If you are reading an Eb part you would want to go up a fourth. For example if the Eb part has an A, you would play (on your Bb horn) a D.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Robert
