 need source for program notes
Author: cassie

Hi all,

I have searched high and low for information on Mozart's Kegelstatt Trio k.498. I have recital program notes due and cannot seem to find the information. I have searched all of the university libraries, proquest, jstor, rilm, EVERYWHERE.
Can anyone possibly point me in the right direction of a scholarly source of info, preferably an online source?

Thanks!

cassie

More has been written about Mozart and his music than any other composer in history. It is hard to believe you could not locate any information at all.

You could start with Jahn's Life of Mozart and read page 465 in Volume 2.

The BBC Music Guides are also excellent sources of information.

A. Hyatt King has authored a volume on Mozart's Chamber Music (BBC Guide #4) for that series.

Look on pages 35-36 of that book...GBK

Most commercially available recordings of classical music contain booklets that talk about the music. If you can find a CD, the booklet may give you some information. Remember copyright rules - but sometimes sources are cited.

Great, thanks. I'll check all of those sources.

Thanks again,

Mozart, His Character, His Work by Alfred Einstein has a few paragraphs on K498. This book is 60 years old but is still worth reading.
