I've read alot about shortening the length of register vent tubes in A clarinets, and was wondering if the same is ever done on Bb? Or maybe if the opposite was done, for example if an A clarinet tube is put into a Bb clarinet to lengthen it. Would this completely change the key of the instrument? Or would it simply lower the upper clarion notes a bit?
