I'm looking for a long/thin shaped case to carry a calrinet in its assembled state, execting the mouthpiece, or at least to hold the bootom section and bell together.
I need this as I have a modified clarinet that has the bell permanantly joined to the lower section.

I know there are cases to hold one with the upper and lower joints together (since single body clarinets are common enough . . . such as Rossi), but I don't know about any cases that would hold a LJ/Bell that are permanently attached.
Best thing I've seen that could accomodate something like this is to make one out of a violin case. I saved the threads (I found it VERY interesting and a task I might want to undertake in the future).

I think the standard Buffet double case holds the lower joint attached to the bell. I don't know if they do such a thing in a single case.

I have two OLD cases, like what you describe, for my old full-Boehms, 2 "trays". L J/BELL, U J/barrel/mp, and small reed etc storage . If no one makes these any more, I'd suggest looking on EBAY for old, vintage, before 1930?, cls, for a cheap case + horn ! Makers went to Fitted cases in about the 1920's. A metal cl case might be too narrow for a wood or plastic cl. Luck, Don

I would second Don's suggestion and recommend eBay. Those kinds of cases are not too uncommon and usually pretty cheap.

yup.
ask me offline how i know that, or call up ProWinds and have them sell you a double case. I don't think I've seen a single case like that , except perhaps cases for the old metal clarinets.

Periodically you'll see new cases for these on eBay...around $30. Or...you can use a case for a soprano sax.

Some of the Bundy cases were made to hold the assembled clarinet, similar to the ones for most old metal clarinets, and much like Bundy eefer cases, but larger. These turn up on eBay from time to time, usually with old clarinets in them.

modern soprano sax cases will not fit a metal or put together clarinet but a soprano sax gig bag will work just fine. i sometimes carry my clarinet to gigs this way to save time by not having to put it together and take it apart .
