Changes in new instruments during the break-in period
Author: Aussie Nick

I was wondering what differences or changes people have noticed (if any at all?) in their instruments when they have been brand new. Do you find the resistance to change? The pitch in any registers? The timbre of particular notes? What can be expected?

As pads begin to settle in I've noticed changes which sometimes requires a visit to the shop and then once it is readjusted, things stay pretty consistant for quite a while after that.

Best
Rick
